Lindsey

I was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) two years ago. My family, doctor and I didn’t know why I was breaking so many bones until I went to a rheumatologist. My type of JIA is polyarticular arthritis. I haven’t yet found anyone who has the same condition I have, but I know I will get through it and I'm also going to go to Double H Camp where I will meet others with my disease. When I'm in pain or I have a flare, it always helps when I repeat this phrase in my mind, "mind over matter." It means the use of will power to overcome physical problems.
